What is STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. According to the Department of Defense: “We need people with science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills to solve tough problems. Scientists and engineers tackle pressing issues, like creating new medicines or developing technology to use energy more efficiently. STEM jobs tend to pay more than other jobs, and they’re also in high demand, which means that people who work in STEM can have stable and rewarding careers. By participating in STEM education programs, you can help drive innovation and progress for years to come.”

How can I celebrate National STEM Day at The Clue Room?

We have 10 original Live Escape Games, all designed in house by our staff. Each game has unique puzzles that require good problem solving, communication, and organization skills. Additionally, when we design our games we focus on creating puzzles that showcase different disciplines like Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Learn more below!

Spy Ops

S: Science is an important part of Spy Ops. Not only does the game take place in a wacky laboratory where you as agents must save Denver from a doomsday device, but there are puzzles themed around science elements like the Periodic Table, scientific instruments, and most importantly handling radioactive material!!!

Time Capsule

T: Technology is an evolving element in our Time Capsule game. As time travelers, you get the unique opportunity to explore the five decades and see how technology has changed from the 1960’s to the future (2030’s). Most importantly, you must find the five artifacts that will save our timeline!

In Queso Emergency

E: Engineering is what inspired our In Queso Emergency game. The Rube Goldberg machine we created in this game took weeks of precise engineering and testing to help our little mice retrieve their cheese! Additionally, this game took the most math to build to create large food props that would be to scale: a human sized mouse.

Clue Dunnit?!

M: Mathematics is seen in fun ways in each of our games, however with Clue Dunnit we designed unique ways to incorporate encoded mathematics. But fear not the whole game isn’t math based, but its creator (Owner, Todd) is a numbers guy so including this classic puzzle typed was a fun must!
