October 9 is Chicago Day! Celebrate with our TWO Chicago themed games: 1893 and Bootlegger’s Breakout! This day is especially special for The Clue Room since our family is originally from Chicago!
What is Chicago Day?
Chicago Day is began in 1893 for the World’s Fair host in Chicago. The date was the opening for the World’s Fair and commemorated the 22nd Anniversary of the Chicago Fire of 1871.
1893
Inspired by the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair and the novel, Devil in the White City: The 1893 Chicago World’s Fair exhibited world changing technologies and modern marvels. In the shadow of the bright lights, a sinister hotel was built by Dr. H.H. Holmes to prey upon unknowing exhibition attendees. Holmes’ victims include two sisters, the owners of oil-rich land in Texas. Shine light on their murders, and you just may get the deed to that coveted Texas property. But be sure you’re able to check out safely from the World’s Fair Hotel. In 1893, you could strike oil or find yourself choking on gas.
Please note that our 1893 game is recommended for participants 13 or older due to the story line and difficulty. We require a minimum booking of 6 participants to make the following games private: Clue Dunnit, Monstrum, Time Capsule, and 1893. If less than 6 participants are already booked into the game, the game will not be private.
Bootlegger’s Breakout
The Beer Wars of 1927 are raging in Chicago and Al Capone’s the king of slinging hooch. As members of an up and coming rival gang, you’re tasked with turning the tides. Escape Al’s boozy base of operations with the secret beer recipe or get beaten by his bruisers.
Please note: This is the only game at The Clue Room that is not completely ADA Accessible, however modifications can be made upon request. This game is not recommended for players who are unable to kneel down or move through low spaces. For this game, we recommend more than two participants play since this game requires dividing and conquering.
