In Queso Emergency
Mission: Gather your cheese stash before the mouse house you’ve made in the cupboard is destroyed by the PAXCO exterminators.
Literary Inspiration: The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo
Clue Room Crew member and Game Designer, Conrad, had many inspirations when creating In Queso Emergency. As an avid reader, one of his biggest inspirations for this game’s design and storyline came from The Tale of Despereaux which tells of a brave little mouse dedicated to protecting what’s most important.
Conrad wanted to inspire this same bravery and determination to our players in this larger than life game!
Matter of the Mad Hatter
Mission: The Jabberwocky threatens to destroy Wonderland. Solely the Mad Hatter with his Vorpal Sword is strong enough to defeat the Jabberwocky. The only problem? The Mad Hatter seems to have misplaced the Vorpal Sword. And for the life of him, he can’t find his hat. Help our whimsical warrior with weapons and headwear, or watch Wonderland woefully wither.
Literary Inspirations: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll
The classic tales of adventure, whimsy, and wild worlds have not only inspired generations of creatives but this unique Mad Hatter themed game!
Shadow Gallery:
Mission: Enter the lair of the infamous Pax Lab operator, ‘The Traveller’; known for her globe-trotting, thievery, and gaudy orchestrations of violent attacks. You must thwart her plot to destroy cities across the world by using the rare artifacts lining her heinous hideout.
Literary Inspiration: V for Vendetta by Alan Moore
Creative Director and Game Designer of The Shadow Gallery, Veronica, wanted to blend this dystopian story with the elusive traveling Carmen Sandiego to show a chaotic and eclectic world of our villain The Traveller. Inspired by V for Vendetta’s lead: Evey, The Traveller lives her life without rules and works hard to avoid capture. Will you be the first to stop her?
Monstrum:
Mission: Your team of detectives is investigating a string of horrific murders each committed during the full moon. The lead suspect is Dr. Frank Glass. Taking your investigation outside the law, you break into his laboratory, only to find Glass one step ahead. Escape the grasp of Frank Glass or discover your own much more gruesome fate.
Literary Inspirations: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Dracula by Bram Stoker, and Cycle of the Werewolf by Stephen King
Fans of horror and the supernatural, Owner, Elisa, and Creative Director, Veronica, wanted this spooky game that had the literary world’s best monsters: Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, and the werewolf.
1893:
Mission: The 1893 Chicago World’s Fair exhibited world changing technologies and modern marvels. In the shadow of the bright lights, a sinister hotel was built by Dr. H.H. Holmes to prey upon unknowing exhibition attendees. Holmes’ victims include two sisters, the owners of oil-rich land in Texas. Shine light on their murders, and you just may get the deed to that coveted Texas property. Check out safely from the World’s Fair Hotel. In 1893, you could strike oil or find yourself choking on gas.
Literary Inspiration: The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
The mission speaks for itself in this eerie game inspired by the chilling story of America’s most notorious serial killer.
